NZ Road Relay Championships, Halcombe 2026

The NZ Road Relay Championships takes place in Halcombe, Manawatū Whanganui on 3 October 2026. Entry periods are listed for June 2026, with standard entries closing 21 September and late entries closing 25 September 2026.

The event is a team road relay where each team member runs one leg. Teams are made up of four to seven runners; individual leg distances are typically between about 4 km and 13 km. The courses use country roads and include a mix of climbs, flats, and fast descents. Between legs, teams move along the route in vans, perform baton handovers at changeovers, and support each other from vehicles and at the course sides.

Relay options on the programme include:

  • Seven leg relay - 67 km, 7 runners, 584 m vertical
  • Six leg relay - course details coming late June
  • Four leg relay - 16.8 km, 4 runners or walkers

Grades and categories are given for Senior and Masters club divisions, social categories, U16 girls and boys, Open 70+, and open and social walk entries. Course maps and an event guide are noted as coming soon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
