MammothMarch Upstate New York : Letchworth State Park
MammothMarch Upstate New York is a single‑circuit 20‑mile hiking event held on August 8, 2026, at the Castile Entrance of Letchworth State Park, often called the "Grand Canyon of the East." The route follows the Genesee River and passes multiple waterfall and gorge viewpoints within the park.
The course covers approximately 20 miles with a total elevation gain around 2,300 ft. Terrain includes paved and unpaved hiking trails, dirt trails, gravel roads, and forest floor. Aid and refreshment stations are positioned roughly every 5 to 7 miles and provide toilets, food, and drinks including water, electrolyte options, fruit, cereal or protein bars, and sandwiches. There are cut off times at aid stations for safety and there is no official timekeeping; participants completing the distance receive a finisher medal and a personalized certificate. Participants who stop before the finish receive a certificate indicating mileage covered.
Event logistics include participant tracking via bib numbers at touchpoints such as start, finish, and aid stations to meet park regulations. Complimentary on site parking is provided. A limited number of discounted rooms are available through the event travel partner, and accommodations in the park such as the Glen Iris Inn are noted as additional options. The event is sold out and a wait list is in place; available tickets are allocated first come, first served. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
