MammothMarch Southeast Ohio 2026
MammothMarch Southeast Ohio is a long-distance hiking event held on August 1, 2026, at Burr Oak State Park Scout Groupcamp in Glouster, Ohio. The event follows a single-circuit loop that completely encircles Burr Oak Lake and covers 20 miles with around 1,700 ft of total elevation gain.
The route offers shaded trails and lake views and runs mainly on unpaved hiking trails, dirt tracks, gravel roads, and forest floor. Aid and refreshment stations are positioned approximately every 5 to 7 miles and provide toilets, food, and drinks. These services vary by station and include water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruit, cereal or protein bars, and sandwiches.
The event uses staggered starting slots with limited capacity so small groups of hikers depart together; a maximum of five hikers start at the same time. There is no official timekeeping; participants who complete the distance receive a finisher medal and a personalized certificate. Participants who stop before completing the full route receive a certificate indicating the mileage covered. For safety, cut-off times are enforced at aid stations.
On-site amenities include complimentary parking. A limited number of discounted rooms and cabins are reserved at Burr Oak Lodge, and the lodge offers an early grab and go breakfast for lodge guests. Merchandise will be available for pick up on event day, and an official online shop also offers shipping for orders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
