MammothMarch Southeast Ohio - Burr Oak State Park
MammothMarch Southeast Ohio is a day-long hiking event on Saturday, August 1, 2026, held at Burr Oak State Park, Glouster, Ohio. The route is a single-circuit loop that leads completely around Burr Oak Lake and offers shaded trails and lake views. The scheduled distance is 20 miles, with an expected completion window of about eight hours and a total elevation gain around 1,700 ft.
Terrain along the course is mainly unpaved hiking trails, dirt trails, gravel roads and forest floor. Aid and refreshment stations are positioned approximately every 5–7 miles and provide toilets, food and drinks; offerings vary by station and can include water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruit, cereal or protein bars, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Complimentary parking is available on site.
All participants who complete the distance receive a finisher medal and a personalized certificate. Participants who stop before the finish receive a certificate stating the mileage covered. Returning participants can present a MammothMarch Hiking Pass to collect event stamps; new participants receive a Hiking Pass.
Limited discounted rooms and cabins are available at Burr Oak Lodge for event guests; lodge guests are offered a complimentary grab and go breakfast on the event morning. Merchandise is offered through an event store and an official online shop, with event-store items available for pick up on the day and online-store orders handled separately.
