Athens Ohio Marathon
The Athens Ohio Marathon is an annual road race in Athens, Ohio, held continuously since 1968 and described as the state's longest consecutively run marathon. The event includes both full and half marathon distances along with virtual options.
The in-person races start in Uptown Athens near the Ohio University College Green and finish on the Ohio University track. Much of the route connects with the Hockhocking-Adena Bikeway and follows the Hocking River valley; the marathon course remains in the valley for most of the distance.
Both the marathon and half marathon courses are USATF certified and are well marked. The full marathon is designated as a Boston Qualifier. Race weekend information covers parking, aid stations and spectator details.
