The event is scheduled for January 30, 2027, and features a single main distance of 20 miles to be completed within an eight hour target window. Timekeeping is not used for ranking; participants who complete the distance receive a finisher medal and are recorded on the event wall of fame. The route, nicknamed the "sandy beast", uses various Dunns Creek trails and the Piney Bluff trail system. Terrain is mainly unpaved hiking trails, sandy tracks, gravel roads, and forest floor. Total elevation gain for the route is around 200 ft.

Aid stations and water stops are positioned roughly every 5 to 7 miles and provide toilets, food, and drinks. Typical refreshments include water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruit, cereal or protein bars, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Parking is complimentary on site. Merchandise ordered through the event store is available for pick up on event day, while items ordered through the official online shop are shipped. Lodging details will be provided later.
