Event Overview

The Making Strides for Mental Health event takes place on May 2, 2026. It is hosted by Green Country Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS) and held at Depot Green in the Depot District of downtown Muskogee, Oklahoma.

The event aims to bring together GCBHS employees, clients, and supporters to improve mental health awareness in the community. It coincides with Mental Health Awareness Month.

Race Details

The event offers two distances:

  • 5K run/walk with a registration fee of $30.
  • 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk with a registration fee of $20.

Registration for both events closes on May 1, 2026. The 5K race will be chip-timed by I:40 Race Service.

Awards and Perks

Awards include medals for the top three finishers in each 5-year age group, up to 80 and over, and trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K.

Participants who register by April 16, 2026, are guaranteed a t-shirt in their requested size. After that date, shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Community Engagement

Following the run, a Family Fun Day is open to participants and the wider community, continuing until 1:00 PM. Proceeds from the event support GCBHS's outreach and services related to mental health in the community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
