Make It to the Line 4 Mile Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run
This event in Pensacola, Florida is the 39th annual Make It to the Line run and fun run held the day after Christmas. It was created by the event's late owner with the idea that fitness can begin immediately after holiday festivities.
Two distances are offered:
- 4 mile run and walk
- 1 mile fun run
Packet pickup is race day only at the Flora-Bama tent. The event supports the Perdido Key Secret Santa program, which provides gifts, clothing, and food to local families in need.
Age divisions for the 4 mile run and walk are: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90+. Awards are given for first place male and female in each age group for both the run and the walk, plus special awards for overall male and overall female in running and walking categories. Awards must be picked up on race day.
Race rules include a prohibition on running in the walk race; violations result in disqualification. The first 600 participants to finish receive a medal, and shirts are provided to the first 600 registrants. A post race breakfast buffet and beverages are available to participants, and those 21 and older receive two complimentary draft beers.
