Event Overview
The Main Street Mile is an annual running event held in Newark, Delaware. Celebrating its 20th year, the event invites participants to move down Main Street by running, jogging, or walking. The race starts at 280 East Main Street and follows a 1 mile point-to-point course.
Participants are organized into starting groups based on their estimated completion times. The course begins near the local McDonald's on Main Street and concludes with a celebration at the Deer Park Tavern.

Awards and Recognition
Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the overall masters male and female winners, determined by gun time. Additionally, the top three finishers in several age categories are recognized based on chip time. Age brackets range from 9 and under to 70 and over.
The Delaware School Team Challenge offers prize money to the top five Delaware schools with the highest number of participants. To qualify for this challenge, a school team must have at least ten members.
Participant Amenities
Registered participants receive a custom race bib and a commemorative T-shirt. Post-race amenities include snacks, drinks, and music at the finish line celebration. For participants aged 21 and over, a specialized refreshment area is available.
Location and Logistics
Bib pick-up is held on the morning of the event at Market East Plaza. Parking is available in various municipal lots and garages throughout Newark, though parking is strictly prohibited on Main Street and in the Newark Shopping Center.
