About the race

Mad Marathon, Mad Half, the 10K, and the 5K take place in the Mad River Valley in Central Vermont. The 16th annual edition is scheduled for July 11, 2027.

Runners follow routes on back and dirt roads through a rural landscape with views of the Green Mountains. The courses pass rolling farmland with climbs and descents, small villages, historic barns, covered bridges and fields with local cows. The event includes aid stations and volunteers along the courses.

Past participants highlighted organization, plentiful aid stations and the Vermont scenery. The event presents multiple distance options that share the region's rural character and varied terrain.
