Mad Marathon
The 15th Annual Mad Marathon, Mad Half, relays, 5K and 10K are scheduled for July 12, 2026, in the Mad River Valley in Central Vermont. The event includes multiple distances and relay team options across the same rural region.
Races follow back roads and dirt roads through an agricultural landscape with views of the Green Mountains. The course passes rolling farmlands that include climbs and descents, small villages, historic barns, covered bridges and fields with Vermont cows.
Past participant comments highlight clear organization, plentiful aid stations and volunteers, New England scenery and a mixture of scenic and demanding terrain. The event is presented as a community race routed through a largely rural setting in central Vermont.
