Mackinaw Valley Wine Run 5K
The Mackinaw Valley Wine Run is a chip timed 5k run and walk held at Mackinaw Valley Vineyard and Winery in Mackinaw, Illinois (33633 State Rt 9). The event is scheduled for June 14, 2026 and uses a two lap course that starts and finishes at the winery.
The course is mostly cross country style, includes grass and uneven areas, and offers a tour through the vineyards. It is described as not being ideal for personal best times; walkers are asked to keep to the right so faster runners can pass on the second lap. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine and may be delayed in severe weather.
Race registration includes a T shirt (Super Soft Ring Spun Cotton), a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a chip timed race bib, online results, and a pour of wine for eligible participants. Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each ten year category (19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & over); awards must be picked up the day of the event.
Additional details: minors may participate with a reduced registration that excludes the wine items, strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground and children in strollers can participate for free without registration, and dogs are not permitted on site. The event’s charity partner is The Heller Center for Kids with Cancer at OSF Children’s Hospital of Peoria. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
