Machete Muertos 200
The Machete Muertos 200 is an ultramarathon event held at Lake Perris in Perris, California, from October 28 to November 1, 2026. It is associated with a Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration. The event offers multiple distances: 200 Miler, 100 Miler, 50 Miler, 20 Miler, and 10 Miler. A 20 Mile Ruck Division is also available, requiring participants to carry a weighted pack.
The course is a loop system around Lake Perris. The 10 Miler and 50 Miler use a 10+ mile loop with approximately 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap. The 20 Mile Ruck Division, 100 Miler, and 200 Miler use a 20-mile course around the entire lake with approximately 4,500 feet of elevation gain per lap.
The 200 Miler is described as having over 44,000 feet of total elevation gain and a 96-hour cutoff. The event is known for its technical terrain. For the 100 and 200 Miler distances, cash prizes are awarded to the top three overall finishers.
A group tent campground is available for participants from Tuesday afternoon to Monday morning. Family, friends, and pacers can camp for free. The campground is located at the start/finish line and transition area. Pacers are allowed for certain distances after specific lap milestones.
Cut-off times are enforced: 96 hours for the 200 Miler, 48 hours for the 100 Miler, 24 hours for the 50 Miler, and 12 hours for the 20 Mile Ruck Division. There is no cut-off for the 10 Miler. The event offers free professional photos to participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
