Machete Muertos 200 : Lake Perris, California
Machete Muertos 200 is part of the Machete Trail Madness Dia de Los Muertos event held at Lake Perris in Perris, CA. The event includes multiple race distances and a 200-mile ultramarathon that the organizers describe as having over 44,000 feet of elevation gain and sustained technical terrain. The 200-mile distance uses a 20-mile loop around the lake and has a 96-hour cutoff.

Course details note a 10-mile-plus loop with about 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap for the 10 and 50 milers. The 20-mile loop used by the 20-mile ruck, 100- and 200-miler has about 4,500 feet of elevation gain. Aid stations include a full aid station at mile 6 for 10 and 50 milers, and aid stations at miles 8 and 13 for the 20-mile ruck, 100, and 200-miler. The start and finish area serves as the transition and crew area.
Rules and services: cutoffs are 96 hours for 200, 48 hours for 100, 24 hours for 50, 12 hours for the ruck, and none for the 10-miler. Pacers are restricted by distance and lap completion; one pacer per runner with lap-by-lap changes allowed. Ruck weights are 20 pounds for females and 30 pounds for males. Camping is provided in a group tent campground with no trailers or hookups; family and pacers may camp free. Podium cash prizes are listed for the top three overall finishers in the 100- and 200-mile races. The event policy states no refunds, with rare transfers considered within 30 days before the event.
