Event overview
Machete Muertos 200 takes place at Lake Perris, Perris, CA from October 28 to November 1, 2026. Distances offered include multiple ultramarathon options and a ruck division. Registration closes on October 16. The organizer notes the 200-mile distance has about 44,000 feet of total elevation gain and a 96-hour cutoff.

Course and logistics
The event uses two main loop courses. A 10-mile-plus loop provides about 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap for the 10- and 50-mile races. A 20-mile course circling the lake has about 4,500 feet of gain and is used by the 20-mile ruck, 100- and 200-mile races. Aid stations include a full station at mile 6 for 10- and 50-mile runners, and an additional station at mile 2.8 for the 20-mile ruck, 100- and 200-mile distances. The start/transition area is at the group campground.
Camping is available (group tent campground, no trailers or hookups). Campground check-in begins Tuesday and checkout is Monday morning. Family, friends, and pacers for 50-, 100- and 200-mile entrants may camp free.
Rules, pacing and prizes
Cutoff times: 96 hours for the 200, 48 hours for the 100, 24 hours for the 50, 12 hours for the 20-mile ruck, and no cutoff for the 10. Pacer rules: none for the 10 or ruck; limited pacers for later laps on the 50, 100 and 200 as described by the organizer. Ruck weights: 20 lb for females, 30 lb for men. Cash prizes are listed for overall top three in the 200 and 100 mile fields. The event policy states no refunds; limited transfers may be considered when requested in advance.
