Machete Muertos 200 is part of the Machete Trail Madness series held at Lake Perris in Perris, California. The event offers multiple race distances on looped courses around the lake and nearby trails and is presented by Machete Trail Madness.
Distances include:
- 200 mile
- 100 mile
- 50 mile
- 20 mile
- 10 mile and a 20 mile ruck division
Course and elevation details note a 10 mile loop with about 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap for the 10 and 50 mile races. The 20 mile loop used by the 20 mile ruck division, 100 and 200 mile races has roughly 4,500 feet of elevation gain per lap. The 200 mile event is described by organizers and some past participants as especially demanding and includes over 44,000 feet of total elevation gain and a 96 hour cutoff.
Support and logistics include aid stations at mile 6 for 10 and 50 mile runners, and aid at miles 8 and 13 for the 20, 100 and 200 mile courses. Campground access is provided for participants and guests; group tent camping is available and pacers are permitted under specified lap rules for longer distances.
