Machete Muertos 200
Machete Muertos 200 is part of a multi-distance trail event held at Lake Perris in Perris, CA, organized by Machete Trail Madness and scheduled for late October into early November 2026. The event offers looped courses that bring runners back to a central transition and group campground each lap.
Distances offered include:
- 200 Miler
- 100 Miler
- 50 Miler
- 20 Mile Ruck Division
- 10 Miler
The 200-mile course includes more than 44,000 feet of elevation gain and technical terrain, and uses a 96-hour cutoff. The 20-mile loop used by the 20 Mile Ruck Division, 100 and 200 Milers has about 4,500 feet of elevation gain. The 10 Mile and 50 Miler follow a roughly 10-mile loop with about 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap. Aid stations are provided at lap locations: a full aid station at mile 6 for 10 and 50 milers, and aid stations at miles 8 and 13 for the 20/100/200 courses. The start and finish area serves as the transition and crew area.
Pacer and ruck rules are specified: no pacers for the 10 Miler or Ruck Division; 50 Milers may add a pacer for the final lap; 100 Milers may use pacers after 60 miles; 200 Milers after 80 miles. Ruck weights are 20 pounds for females and 30 pounds for men.
Cash prizes are awarded to the top three overall finishers in the 200 and 100 mile races. Camping is provided for entrants and their support crews at the group campground with no vehicle hookups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
