Event Overview
MacDill's Paws 4 Heroes 5K is a running and walking event held at Gadsden Park in Tampa, Florida. The event includes two formats: an in-person 5K run/walk and a virtual 5K run/walk option. All proceeds from the event support the Paws for Patriots program, which provides guide and service dogs to veterans with visual impairments or post-traumatic stress disorder at no cost to them.
Event Details
The course is an accurate, but not officially certified, 5K distance that consists of approximately two and a half loops within Gadsden Park. The event uses chip timing. Participants in both the in-person and virtual events receive a race shirt and a finisher's medal.
Packet pickup for the in-person event is on-site at Gadsden Park on race morning, beginning at 7 AM. Registration is online only; no race day registration is available. Age group awards are given to the first, second, and third place finishers in ten-year increments.
Additional Information
Only service dogs are permitted on the in-person course; other dogs are not allowed due to insurance requirements.
