Event Information

The Lyme Midsummer Trail 10K is a midsummer evening trail race held within the grounds of National Trust Lyme near Disley, Stockport (postcode SK12 2NR). The event takes place on Tuesday, 23rd June 2026.

Course Details

The race is a 10 km one-lap course within Lyme Park, with an elevation gain of 272 metres. The route starts outside the main hall entrance and finishes at the Timber Yard, approximately 100 metres from the start. The course features a mixture of grass, trail, and road surfaces. It includes an initial downhill section, a short sharp climb past The Cage with views over Manchester, a second climb to the summit, and woodland sections past The Lantern building. The second half involves more gentle undulations and downhill sections.

The course is fully marked and marshalled, so no navigation is required. The event is licensed by TRA and run under UK Athletics rules.

Participant Information

The minimum age for entry is 16. Entry fees are £28 for club runners and £30 for non-club runners. The fee includes a bespoke medal for all finishers. Chip timing is used. There is no entry on the day; entries close either when the race limit is reached or at midnight the day before the event. Once full, no official waiting list is operated.

On-site Facilities

The event offers free parking within Lyme Park, a free bag drop, toilets, first aid, and a drinks station at the halfway point and finish. Runners are encouraged to bring a pre-filled water bottle to help reduce plastic waste, though bottled water will be provided. High-resolution photos are available for free download after the race.

Awards & Charity

Prizes are awarded for the top 3 male and female finishers (based on gun time) and for veteran categories V35 to V85+ in 5-year increments and first U20 (based on chip time). Awards are equal for men and women. The event supports The National Trust, with £2 from every entry donated.
