LVRR September Summer Series 5K - Prediction Run
The event is a free 5K race held at Lehigh Parkway in Allentown, part of a five-race summer series run on the first Wednesday of each month from May through September. The series is open to nonclub members and has a free registration option; registration opens on February 18, 2026 and closes on September 2, 2026.
This edition uses a prediction-run format with no watches allowed. Organizers set a 60 minute countdown clock and each runner begins when they estimate their own finish time so that ideally many finish together. All runners must check in on race day prior to the start; volunteers wear orange safety vests for check-in duties. Racers must be at least 10 years of age and there is a 60 minute time limit for the course.
The course is an accurately measured, mostly flat cinder trail in the Parkway. The route is modified for scheduled repairs to Bogarts Bridge. The local club will provide hotdogs, water and chips; the potluck dinner is no longer hosted and participants are asked not to bring food to share.
