Lumberjack Pancake Run
The Lumberjack Pancake Run takes place at the Outdoor Adventure Center in Detroit. This running event is part of the Lumberjack Days festival and features a course along the Dequindre Cut. The route is an out-and-back course characterized by flat and fast terrain. Parking is located across from Milliken State Park and Harbor.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- Silver Dollar Mile: A 1 mile run or walk.
- Flapjack 5k: A 3.1 mile run or walk.
- Lumberjack Breakfast: A combination event where participants run both the 1 mile and the 5k races.
All race registrants receive a custom medal, a lumberjack buff, entry to the Outdoor Adventure Center, and a ticket for the pancake breakfast. Those who complete the dual Lumberjack Breakfast event receive unique race swag. A kids' fun run is also available without required registration.
The event includes costume contests for the best flannel apparel and the best lumberjack beard, with categories for both adults and children. The race is capped at 350 participants. Professional timing is provided by the Michigan Running Foundation, with live results available after the event. Families registering three or more people at once are eligible for a discount. For non-participants, additional pancake breakfast tickets are available for purchase. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers aged 18 and under. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
