Lucky 8 5k, 10k, 15k, Half Marathon - Long Beach
The Lucky 8 event takes place along the Long Beach path in Belmont Shores at 5400 E Ocean Blvd. The organizer offers multiple distance options on measured loop and out-and-back courses. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal.
Registration includes drawstring goodie bags, free race photos and videos, posted results with participant names and times usually within 12 to 24 hours, and an assortment of snacks. Pacers and crew are permitted on course. Numerous restrooms and water fountains are available along the route. Running or walking with a stroller is allowed.
Logistics notes from the organizer advise participants to check in at the tables closest to 54th Place at the start of the beach path rather than near Claremont Avenue. Entrants are asked to plan ahead for parking and restroom use and to bring toilet paper if needed because beach restrooms may not always be fully stocked early in the morning. The organizer recommends using Google Maps or Waze rather than Apple Maps for navigation. Group discounts are offered for groups of five or more.
