Lucky Dog 5K - Schaumburg
The Lucky Dog 5K is a themed 5k run and walk held on March 14, 2026 at Busse Woods Grove 28 in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The event supports Animal House Shelter, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) no kill shelter for dogs and cats.
The event is chip timed and scored by J3 Timing, with results posted by J3 Timing. Registration for the 5k includes a short sleeve t-shirt, finisher medal, one dog medal, chip timed race bib, live race results and finish line treats for humans and dogs. The event is open to participants age 3 and over.
Dogs are welcome to participate on the course and are not required to register. Each registration includes one dog medal; additional dog medals can be purchased during registration if bringing more than one dog.
The course is a paved out-and-back on the Busse Woods Trail. The route is generally flat and scenic. The course remains open to bikers and pedestrians, so runners are asked to keep to the right. Participants who bring dogs are asked to bring doggie bags and pick up after their animals.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Extramile Running, 31 West Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg. Awards are given overall male and female and to the top three in standard age groups from 9 and under through 80 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
