Lucky Dip 10
Lucky Dip and Leftovers run on Sunday, January 3, 2027 in East Dean, Eastbourne (BN20 0DR). The in-person event is a 10.5 mile trail run across Beachy Head with an elevation profile of about 1490 ft ascent and descent. The course is marked and mostly on trail terrain, with roughly 99% trail and 1% tarmac. Minimum age is 16.
After finishing the in-person 10.5 mile run, each participant takes a lucky dip to determine an additional target distance. The extra mileage must be completed virtually later and added to the on-course distance to reach the drawn total. Possible lucky dip distances for this edition are:
- South Downs 100 mile
- Winter on the Downs 100 mile
- South Downs 100k
- Winter on the Downs 55 miles
- Winter on the Downs 50k
Alternatively, entrants may choose to complete a selected race distance entirely as a virtual entry and record their runs in their own time. The virtual completion window runs from January 3 to March 20. Organisers provide five Strava groups for participants to join and log virtual runs; these groups will be monitored and used to update results. Entry fee information and refund policy are stated by the organiser; refunds are not normally given except for pregnancy with prior notification.
