Lucky Dip 10
Lucky Dip 10 is a winter running event centred on an in-person 10.5 mile trail run around Beachy Head in Eastbourne. The in-person course is almost entirely trail with a recorded ascent and descent of about 1490 ft and a terrain mix listed as 99% trail and 1% tarmac. The start and finish location is East Dean, Eastbourne, BN20 0DR. The event has a minimum age of 16.
After finishing the in-person 10.5 mile run participants draw an extra distance from a hat. The extra distance must be completed virtually, in the participant’s own time and at their own pace, to reach the total distance pulled from the hat. The virtual portion for entrants starts on January 3rd and ends on March 20th. Alternatively, entrants may choose to complete the entire challenge virtually by selecting a race distance and logging all miles remotely.
Organisers provide four Strava groups that runners can join to add and track runs; these groups are monitored and used to update results. Results may also be submitted weekly to the organiser with a screenshot or URL showing completed runs. Entry fee information is listed as £28.00 with instalment payments available.
