Love in Action Walk/Run
Carmela's Heart Foundation presents a charity running and walking event at Vista View Park in Davie, Florida. The event includes multiple in-person distances and a virtual option. Proceeds support efforts to help children in need, including feeding programs.
The event offers these distances:
- 1K Walk : family-oriented walk; T-shirt available at checkout.
- 5K Run/Walk : includes Runner’s Package: T-shirt, medal and timed bib.
- 10K Run : a second loop of the 5K course.
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk : complete a 5K at any location; optional race kit for US addresses.
The 5K course winds around the park and goes over two hills. The 10K uses a second loop of the same course. Results will be available on site and participants can opt to receive results by text. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers and the top three in each age group; overall awards use gun time and age-group awards use chip time. Winners must be present to receive awards.
Event operations note that packet pickup is designated on site and there is no on-site registration; registration is handled online. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis to the right of the park entrance and requires a short walk over a footbridge from the north side. If the in-person event cannot proceed, in-person registrations will be transferred to the virtual event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
