About the race
The Tamarac Turkey Trot is the 46th annual 5K held at Tamarac City Hall in Tamarac, Florida. The event features a 5K (3.1 miles) course that is USATF certified. The course is described as flat and fast with many corners through the Woodmont area, starting on Pine Island Road and finishing at City Hall.
Parking is available behind City Hall and in the nearby shopping plaza at Pine Island Road and McNab Road while spaces remain. Packet pick up is scheduled on the days before the race at Tamarac City Hall.
The event uses a Chrono‑Track timing system with a disposable, recyclable chip. Fluid stations are located near the first and second mile markers, and a medical team is on call with station staff able to contact medical personnel if needed. Participants running or walking with strollers are asked to enter the start area after the main runners.
Trophies are awarded to the top three overall finishers by gun time, and to first through third place in each age group by net time. Age divisions are provided for male and female competitors from 9 and under through 75 and over. Commemorative T shirts are guaranteed to the first 2000 registered and all finishers wearing a race bib will receive a finisher medal.
