Love Durham Run
The Love Durham Run is a community-focused athletic event held at C.M. Herndon Park in Durham, North Carolina. Participants can engage in a single distance category:
- 3.1 Miles (5k) run, walk, or roll
The event is organized by the Durham Civitan Club. Proceeds from the race support several local and regional initiatives, including the Special Olympics, the Boys & Girls Home of NC, and the Civitan International Research Foundation at the University of Alabama Birmingham. The event also provides scholarships for Durham high school seniors and school supplies for elementary and middle school students.
Registrants receive a participant t-shirt and a custom medal. A specific cheering section and a bubble finish line are featured at the end of the course. For those who register after September 1, t-shirts are provided based on availability and are not guaranteed.
The race recognizes top performers across several award categories. These include overall first-place male and female finishers, as well as the first-place participant in the stroller category. Age group rankings are also acknowledged for participants aged 16 and under, 17-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and older.
Packet pick-up is located at Bull City Running Company on the Friday preceding the event or at the park venue on the morning of the race.
