Louisville Pure Tap 5K
The Louisville Pure Tap 5K, presented by the Louisville Water Company, is a road race that begins and ends at the Louisville Water Tower at 3005 River Road. The course runs east and west along River Road and covers a distance of 3.1 Miles.
The event is professionally chip timed. All participants receive a commemorative short-sleeved race shirt and a custom finisher medal. Youth participants must be at least five years old on race day and able to complete the 5K course independently.
Participants may bring dogs for an additional $10 registration add-on; proceeds from dog registrations benefit Friends of Louisville Metro Animal Services. Registered dogs receive a special bandana. All dogs must be spayed or neutered and provide proof of rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations. Dogs that bring a collapsible bowl allow their owners free entry to the post-race gathering.
A post-race gathering called the after-pawty takes place at Club K9 Dog Park Bar at 9316 Taylorsville Road from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The listed registration fee for the 5K event is $30.00 and registration windows are provided by the organizer.
