About the race

The Lough Key Legends Run is a trail running event at Lough Key Forest & Activity Park, Boyle, Co. Roscommon, scheduled for Sunday May 9th 2027. The event offers two distance options:

10 km
Half Marathon

Routes run mainly on mixed surfaces including trails, forest paths and park road, with only a very small road section. The half marathon uses an opening loop of 1.1 km then two laps of the main 10 km loop. Course maps are provided for illustration and the final course may be subject to minor adjustments.

This is a fully chipped timed event. Every entrant receives a race pack that includes an official T-shirt, a finisher medal, a race bag, and free parking. Walkers are permitted on the 10 km route but will start earlier than runners. A portion of proceeds supports the chosen charity for 2027, the Mayo Roscommon Hospice.

Limited early entries are released during a Festive Release from December 1st to December 14th, with general sales reopening from February. The event takes place within the park’s woodland and lakeside setting and emphasizes scenic trail running through the park’s natural features.
