Kilmovee 5 & 10K Road Race

The Kilmovee 5 & 10K Road Race is held annually on Easter Saturday in Kilmovee, Co. Mayo. The event has taken place since 2010 and combines measured, chip-timed road courses with community fundraising for the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation and Kilmovee Shamrocks GAA. In 2026 the event recorded more than 700 participants and marked its 16th edition.

The courses run on local roads and lanes around Kilmovee and are described as flat with one short uphill. Water stations are positioned throughout the course and provisions are made for cup collection near those stations. Race headquarters is at Kilmovee Shamrocks GAA Clubhouse, Eircode F45 WY80. Entry is by pre-registration only via diidum.com; no race-day entries are accepted.

The event is open to runners, joggers, and walkers. Volunteers provide support before, during, and after the races. Two special, no-cost competitions run within the main event: the Michael McDonnell Memorial Shield for teachers and students, and the Miyah Kelly NS Challenge as part of the 5K for national schools.
