About the race
The Lost Lakes Triathlon takes place at Lost Lake in Whistler, British Columbia and is scheduled for 20 September 2026. The event is sanctioned by the BC Amateur Athletics Association (BCAAA) and follows a three-leg format.
Distances and surfaces:
- 0.6 km swim in the crystal clear water of Lost Lake.
- 16 km off road bike on the Sea to Sky trail over hard packed limestone.
- 7 km run loop on flat asphalt.
Safety and rules: certified lifeguards will be on the water in kayaks and buoys mark the swim course. AEDs will be available. Wetsuits are recommended because the water may be chilly; most swimmers complete the swim leg in about 7 to 13 minutes. Per BCAAA rules, athletes may hold onto kayaks but may not push off from them. No personal flotation devices are allowed in the swim.
