Lory Summer Trail Series at Lory State Park
The Lory Summer Trail Series is a sequence of four midweek trail races held in August at Lory State Park, Eltuck Picnic Area, near Bellvue, Colorado. Distances in the series range from 5k to 12k and results are tabulated by chip time with series points awarded for each race. Top series finishers receive awards at the end of the series. Registrants may select a free vintage Gnar race shirt from available stock.
Race dates and courses
- August 4: Flat and Fast Eltuck Valley 5k, 250' elevation gain
- August 11: Into the Hills Eltuck 10k, 1,700' elevation gain
- August 18: Into the Hills Eltuck 5k, 700' elevation gain
- August 25: Flat and Fast Eltuck Valley 12k, 500' elevation gain
Entry fees change by date with discounted youth pricing for ages 17 and under. Transfers may be converted to a 75% race credit valid for 12 months or moved to another series race up to 72 hours before a race. Except for waitlist transfers, entries are non refundable and non transferable; there are no refunds or credits for race cancelation due to extreme events.
Events are described as no frills with no on course aid. Two permanent toilets are located at start and finish and several park restrooms are passed on course. Parking is at the Eltuck Picnic Area until filled, then nearby Spur Road is used and involves a short walk to the start. The organizer provides pizza and beverages after each race.
