The course is a roughly 2 mile loop composed of about 80% dirt trail and 20% pavement. Runners start near the Centennial Park shelter, follow a loop in the River’s Edge Natural Area, and return to the park entering the start/finish from the opposite direction. The course is flat and looped.
Racing is chip timed and wearing the timing chip correctly is required. Timed races use scheduled start times and allow late starts with official time based on the scheduled start. Distance-based entrants must complete their registered distance to avoid a DNF and drops in distance are not permitted. No pacers are allowed and crew assistance is allowed only in designated crew areas. Cutting the course, littering, entering the course improperly, and bringing dogs on course may result in disqualification.
Camping is allowed in a designated park area for participants, with park rules including limits on stake length and requirements to weigh down pop-up shelters. About 20 RV permits are available for a fee that will be donated to the City of Loveland. One aid station will be available 24/7 and two hot meals will be served daily. All registrations receive a 5 liter waterproof dry bag, a pompom beanie, a collapsible cup, and finishing buckles for ultra distances starting at 50k. The event has specific deferral and credit policies and does not allow bib transfers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
