Lori's Voice 5K: Pathways to Possibilities
This is a professionally timed 5K trail race co-hosted by Lori’s Voice and the City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department. The course begins at the Kentwood Community Center and follows sections of local neighborhoods and the Kentwood trail system. The event is presented as family friendly and open to people who want to walk, roll, or run, with participation encouraged for a range of ages and abilities.
Proceeds provide financial assistance to families of children under 21 who live with neuromuscular and degenerative diseases. Funds are intended to help cover adaptive equipment, travel for medical care, therapies, and other essential needs that are not fully covered by insurance.
The event includes organized registration roles through myTEAM TRIUMPH with Captain and Angel options and volunteer opportunities. Captain entries are offered at no fee and Angel entries carry a registration fee. Teams are formed so that each Captain is supported by multiple Angels. To help ensure Captains meet finish cutoffs, Captains are expected to have completed at least one event of this distance in the past two years and a recommended 5K finish time of 35 minutes or less. Volunteer tasks include assembling race chairs, tagging equipment, and other setup and teardown duties. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
