Format and entries

The event uses the Backyard Ultra format. Competitors run a single loop of 4.167 miles (6.7 km) each hour. To remain in the race a runner must complete the loop within the hour and begin the next loop at the top of the hour. The race continues in this pattern until only one runner completes a final solo lap; all other participants receive a DNF.
