About the race
Longwood Village hosts road races on 18 October 2026 featuring new course layouts that return the event to the calendar after a six year break. The races begin in Longwood Village and route participants along scenic country roads and the Royal Canal Greenway before returning to the village.
Race headquarters is at Longwood GAA Centre, where overall and category prizegiving and post‑race refreshments take place. The event is organised for the benefit of local community groups including Longwood GAA, Longwood Tidy Towns and Longwood Running Group, among other local causes.

Entry fees are listed as €15 for the 5 km and €20 for the 10 km. The event uses public roads and shared recreational paths as part of the route and is presented as a community fundraising activity with on‑site prizegiving and refreshments at the GAA centre.
