The Gingerbread Run
The Gingerbread Run is a mass participation event held in Donadea Forest Park in Co. Kildare. The programme comprises three separate 10 km races run on the same looped course. The loop measures 5 km so each race is two laps.
Participants receive a medal, a hat and a gingerbread muffin on completion. The first male and first female finisher in each race receive a small commemorative trophy. There are no pacers; a lead bike will guide each race and marshals will be positioned on the course. Official photographers will be on site and a race MC will provide music and commentary.
Facilities on site include eight portaloos stocked with loo roll. There is no bag drop; belongings should be left in vehicles and are left at the owner’s risk. Parking is limited and carpooling is requested. As the event takes place in a public forest park, littering on the course will result in immediate disqualification.
Entry is restricted to people aged 16 years and over. Early bird entry is priced at €25 for the first 100 entries; subsequent entry fee is €29.95. Refunds are not available after 21/10/26 and no deferrals are permitted. Race results are published in real time online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
