Longest Day Road Race - Event details
The event takes place on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Thunderbird Stadium on the UBC campus in Vancouver, British Columbia. Multiple race distances are offered and a post-race party is held on the stadium concourse.
Course and distances
- Kid's Mile: first part of the adult loop then return along Main Mall
- 5 km: one lap of a scenic campus loop
- 10 km: same loop completed twice
The courses are measured and marked. Water stations are located at the 1 km, 3 km, 6 km and 8 km marks. Chip timing is provided by Startline Timing. Timing chips and meal vouchers are attached to race bibs.
Logistics and services Online registration is available up until race time. Race package pickup is available at Forerunners on West 4th, with recommended pickup dates on Wednesday May 27 and Thursday May 28; certain race swag is only available at that pickup location. A complimentary bag and bike check is provided about 60 m from the finish line. Washrooms are available in the grandstand and at the far end of the parking lot. Bike racks are available at the stadium.
Parking and access No parking is available at the stadium because the area is used for the post-run party. Parking is available on the east side of East Mall and in the parking structure on Thunderbird Blvd at Wesbrook. Several bus routes pass within walking distance of the start and finish area.
Post-race amenities and awards The post-race party includes a full meal, live music and an onsite beer garden. The first 1000 5 km/10 km runners collecting packages at Forerunners receive a Longest Day sport hat. Over 60 draw prizes donated by local businesses are planned, along with performance awards and a grand prize. The event supports the Greater Vancouver Food Bank through donation draws.
