Longest Day Mile
The Longest Day Mile is a one mile track race held at Phoenix High School in Phoenix, Oregon on June 21, 2026. The course is four laps around the high school track. Runners are assigned to heats seeded by pace with groups that include 5:45 per mile and faster, 5:46 to 7:00 per mile, 7:00 to 9:00 per mile, 9:00 to 11:00 per mile, and 11:00 per mile and slower.
Online registration is available for a $13 fee and closes the day before the event; day of registration is available for $15. Awards include ribbons for the top three places in all age groups. A $100 prize is offered to any male who runs under 4:00 minutes and any female who runs under 4:40 minutes.
The event supports the SOU Food Pantry. Main requested donations are canned meats such as tuna or spam, microwaveable side dishes, breakfast items, and snack foods. Participants and attendees must follow the listed restrictions: no roller skaters, bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, dogs, headphones, or unregistered participants are allowed on the track or in race activities.
