Longest Day Mile
The Longest Day Mile is a track event held at the Phoenix High School Track in Phoenix, Oregon. The race takes place on a standard athletic track, with participants completing four laps to finish the mile distance.
The event is organized into five distinct heats based on the participant's predicted pace:
- Heat 1: 5:45 minute pace and under
- Heat 2: 5:46 to 7:00 minute pace
- Heat 3: 7:00 to 9:00 minute pace
- Heat 4: 9:00 to 11:00 minute pace
- Heat 5: 11:00 minute pace and up
Registration is available both online in advance and on-site on the day of the race. The event recognizes high performance across various categories. Ribbons are awarded to the top three finishers in every age group. Additionally, a $100 prize is offered to any male participant running under 4:00 minutes or any female participant running under 4:40 minutes.
Safety regulations are in place to ensure a clear course for all runners. The event prohibits the use of headphones, roller skates, bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, and dogs.
