Annual Long Run 5K

The Annual Long Run 5K is a community running event held at J.L. Long Middle School in Dallas, Texas. The event features two distinct distances:

5K Run
1K Fun Run

Both races start and finish at the school campus located at 6116 Reiger Ave. This event serves as the primary fundraiser for the J.L. Long Middle School PTA. The funds generated from the race support several school initiatives, including educational and arts enrichment such as school musicals and college fairs, campus remodeling, and student safety tools. Additionally, proceeds contribute to student life events like graduation ceremonies and the school's Peace Pantry.

Participants receive a t-shirt and dinner as part of their registration. Dinner options are provided by local establishments, with a choice between Mexico Lindo or Chelsea Corner. Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the race on the school's front lawn.
