Event
The Long Haul 100 is a trail event at Colt Creek State Park in Lakeland, FL. Distances offered:
- 100 Miler - 6 loops of 16.7 miles
- 100 Furlongs - single abbreviated loop (about 12.5 miles)
The event is a Western States Endurance Run qualifier and is Trail Sisters approved. The 100-mile race has a 32-hour cut-off; the WSER qualifying cut-off is 30 hours. Finishers receive a belt buckle, and runners who finish the 100-mile course in under 30 hours receive a WSER lottery entry. Wildlife that may be seen along the course includes alligators, otters, gopher tortoises, and fox squirrels. The 2026 100-mile field is sold out and the waitlist is closed.
Logistics
The course provides access to drop bags every loop and has three fully staffed aid stations. Course maps are available on common mapping platforms such as CalTopo and AllTrails. Pacers may join runners after loop 3; runners aged 60 or older may have a pacer at any time. All pacers must sign a waiver.
Parking is distributed in four areas within the park, with RVs permitted only in the RV campground. Parking areas vary by access: car access with canopies allowed, primitive tent camping, a grassy lot near Mac Lake, and paved parking near the start/finish. Travel time estimates from nearby airports are about 1 hour 5 minutes from Tampa International Airport and about 1 hour 25 minutes from Orlando International Airport.
