Long Haul 100
The Long Haul 100 is a trail running event held at Colt Creek State Park in Lakeland, Florida. The event takes place within a diverse state park environment where participants may encounter local wildlife such as alligators, otters, gopher tortoises, and fox squirrels. The race is a Western States Qualifier and is Trail Sisters Approved.
Participants can choose from two distinct distances:
- 100 Miles: A course consisting of 6 loops of 16.8 miles each with a total cut-off time of 32 hours.
- 100 Furlongs (12.5 miles): A single abbreviated loop based on the 100-mile course.
The event features three fully staffed aid stations offering hot and cold food and beverages. These are located at the South Loop, Metal Mark Pond, and Middle Lake. Runners in the 100-mile category have access to drop bags at the end of every loop. Finishers of the full distance receive a belt buckle, and those who complete the course in under 30 hours earn a Western States Lottery ticket.
The venue provides various parking and crew areas, including the Middle Lake Day Use Area, Primitive Group Camping, and an open grass lot near Mac Lake. Each area has specific regulations regarding canopy setups and vehicle access. Pacers are permitted for 100-mile runners after the third loop, or at any time for participants aged 60 and older.
