Long Creek 60k

The event offers two distances:

  • 60K
  • 30K

Both courses run inside First Landing State Park and include segments on nine named trails: Narrows, Long Creek, White Hill Lake, Cape Henry, Kingfisher, Osmanthus, Bald Cypress, High Dune, Fox Run, and Osprey. Terrain passes through maritime forest, cypress swamp, salt marsh, bay shoreline, and a section of Broad Bay beach. The 60K is two loops of the course while the 30K is one loop.

There are three aid stations located near the intersections of Long Creek and 64th, Cape Henry and Kingfisher, and a central Cape Henry location. Aid stations provide Tailwind, water, soda, gels, pickle juice, and various foods. This is a cupless event; cups are not provided at aid stations. Each entrant receives a 200 ml collapsible SpeedCup at packet pickup.

All finishers who complete their distance within the event time limit receive a custom finisher award. The event uses the boat ramp side of the Narrows Trail for the course start and finish area. Packet pickup takes place the day before at a local running store and on the race day at First Landing State Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
