Lonesome Pine Trail Run
The Lonesome Pine Trail Run takes place on 31 January 2026 at Kielder Forest. The event is organised by Cold Brew Events Ltd and is Race 5 of the Shadowlands Race Series. Entries open 26 October 2025 and close 26 January 2026. The event minimum age is 18 or older. Entry fees are £28 for UKA members and £30 for non-members, plus a booking fee; the entry fee includes a £4 Forestry England charge.
Course and competition
This is a night trail run of 17 km with 369 m of elevation. The route uses forest tracks and mountain bike trails, centring on the Lonesome/Sky Dive mountain bike trails. The course begins on the relatively flat Lakeside Way, then follows long steady climbs to a highest point before descending on new mountain bike trails that lead into Kielder village near the finish. There are event prizes and the possibility to earn points toward the overall series presentation to be held at Pedalling Squares cafe on 21 February 2026.
