Event information
The Lonesome Pine Trail Run takes place on 31 January 2026 in Kielder Forest. The event is organised by Cold Brew Events Ltd and is Race 5 of the Shadowlands Race Series. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entries open on 26 October 2025 and close on 26 January 2026. Entry fees are listed as UKA member £28 and non-member £30, plus a booking fee. The entry fee includes a £4 Forestry England charge. A £2 fee applies for participants who are not UKA members. The event is held under TRA/UKA rules.
Course and format
The race is a night trail run over a distance of 17 km with total elevation gain of 369 m. The route uses forest tracks, the Lonesome and Sky Dive mountain bike trails, and sections of the Lakeside Way. The course includes relatively flat sections along the lakeside, long steady climbs to a high point, and downhill sections on mountain bike trails that return toward Kielder village.
