London OH Marathon
The London OH Marathon is a road racing event held at Merri-Mac Park in London, Ohio. Organized by the Merrimac Miracle Organization, the event serves as a fundraiser to support park improvements, including recreational paths and sports fields. The course is characterized by its very flat terrain and tree-lined scenery, following rails that lead toward Darby Creek Metro Park. The marathon and half-marathon courses are USATF certified, and the full marathon requires completing the course loop twice.
Participants can choose from several distance and category options:
- Marathon (running, wheelchair, and hand-cycle) - 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon (running, wheelchair, and hand-cycle) - 13.1 miles
- 5K - 3.1 miles
The course remains open for five hours after the final participant starts. Aid stations and portable restrooms are positioned every 2 to 2.5 miles along the route. These stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, and energy gels. Participants in the half marathon receive a vintage-style race shirt and a finisher medal. Those in the full marathon receive a lightweight full-zip hooded sweatshirt and a finisher medal. Runners who achieve a Boston Marathon qualifying time during this event are eligible for a free entry into the following year's race.
Race day packet pickup is available at Merri-Mac Park. The event includes categories for wheelchair and hand-cycle athletes for both the 13.1 mile and 26.2 mile distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
