Lofty's Revenge
Lofty's Revenge is a trail running event held in South Australia that leads participants toward the summit of Mt. Lofty. The event offers three distinct distances to accommodate different preferences and endurance levels. Each route is designed to provide a unique perspective of the landscape surrounding the city of Adelaide.
The following distances are available:
- 50 km Ultra Marathon: A point-to-point route starting at Felixstow Reserve and finishing at Mt. Lofty Summit.
- 28 km: A point-to-point course starting at Foxfield Oval in Athelstone and finishing at the summit.
- 10 km: A loop course that both starts and finishes at Mt. Lofty Summit.
The 50 km Ultra Marathon features approximately 1,800 meters of elevation gain. The terrain consists of roughly 70% trail and 30% road. This course begins with a flat section along Linear Park near the River Torrens before transitioning to the Aqueduct Trail in Highbury, which offers views of Black Hill.
A team relay option is available for the 50 km distance, restricted to 30 teams of three runners. Each team member completes one of three legs: 16.1 km from Felixstow to Black Hill, 19.5 km from Black Hill to Norton Summit, or 14.6 km from Norton Summit to Mt. Lofty. This category is open to any combination of participants. For the point-to-point races, one-way bus transportation from the finish line at Mt. Lofty Summit to the starting locations is available.
