Locomotion Endurance Event
The Locomotion is a timed endurance event held at the Camp Jordan Recreation Area in East Ridge, Tennessee. Organized by the Chattanooga Track Club, the event takes place on a flat, 2.00-mile loop that is USATF-certified. Participants complete as many laps as possible within their chosen time limit, and final results are determined by the total number of full laps finished.
The event offers several duration options:
- 24 Hour
- 12 Hour
- 6 Hour
- 3 Hour
For the 24-hour, 12-hour, and 6-hour categories, participants must be at least 18 years old. The 3-hour event is open to all ages, though participants under 18 require a signed waiver from a parent or guardian.
The race village provides space for participants to set up supplies, canopies, and tents. Overnight tent camping and RV spots with electricity are available at the park for a fee, and registration through the park is required for these stays. Facilities include on-site restrooms near the start line and the back of the course.
The event features a concession-style setup with snacks and hydration, including hot food provided at various times. As a cup-free event, runners must bring their own hydration systems. Support crews are permitted in designated areas near the start line, but pacers are only allowed if they are registered participants in the event. This race is part of the Chattanooga Ultra Championship series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
