Event overview
The Locomotion is a timed endurance running event held at Camp Jordan Recreation Area in East Ridge, TN. Races are contested on a flat, USATF-certified 2.00-mile loop. Timed race options include:
- 3-hour event
- 6-hour event
- 12-hour event
- 24-hour event
The 12-hour race serves as the RRCA Tennessee Ultra Championship. Final results are based on the total number of laps completed within each time limit. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each event. There are special recognition awards for completing 50K in the 6-hour, 50 miles in the 12-hour, and 100 miles in the 24-hour events. Record-breaking performances in the 6-, 12-, or 24-hour races are also eligible for awards.
Practical information
The event offers on-site concessions and volunteer aid, including lunch for runners and hot food available throughout the day. It is a cup-free event; participants must bring their own hydration systems. Littering on course can lead to disqualification. Crew support is permitted each lap from a designated grassy area near the start line. Pacers must be registered participants. Race officials may evaluate participants for safety and have authority to stop competitors if needed.
The race village area will be marked before the event. There is room for canopies, tents, and RVs; overnight camping requires registration with the park and payment of associated fees. Restrooms and a porta toilet are available near the start area. Packet pickup is offered the day before and on race morning at the Race Village. Registration closes on Apr 23 at 11:59 PM ET.
