Event Overview
The Locomotion 3/6/12/24 Hour Endurance Event is a timed run/walk event held at Camp Jordan Recreation Area in East Ridge, Tennessee. This is the 9th running of the event, and it serves as the RRCA Tennessee Ultra Championship.
Course and Format
Participants complete laps on a flat, USATF-certified 2.00-mile loop. The event offers multiple timed durations:
- 3-hour race
- 6-hour race
- 12-hour race
- 24-hour race
Awards
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each duration. Special recognition plaques are awarded for achieving 50 kilometers in the 6-hour race, 50 miles in the 12-hour race, or 100 miles in the 24-hour race. Additional awards are available for breaking female and male course records in the 6, 12, or 24-hour events. The 12-hour race is part of the RRCA Tennessee State Ultra Championship.
Amenities and Facilities
A concession-style aid station provides a variety of snacks, hydration, and drinks. Lunch is offered to runners. The event is cup-free, so participants must bring their own hydration systems. Camping options include tent sites and RV spots with electricity, available by registering with the park. Restrooms and porta toilets are located on-site.
Event Rules
Final results are based on the total number of laps completed within the time limit. Crew support is allowed every lap in designated areas. Pacers are not permitted unless they are registered participants. Littering on the course may lead to disqualification.
Series Information
The event is part of the Chattanooga Ultra Championship series. Eligibility for series awards requires participation in all three series events, with awards based on accumulated mileage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
