Lochmara Half Marathon
The Lochmara Half Marathon is a boutique coastal event for up to 200 competitors. The event includes a boat transfer from Picton to the start at Anakiwa and a return boat trip to Picton after prize giving at Lochmara Lodge. The 2026 entry fee is $125 and includes both boat trips.
Entries open online at 8am on Monday 1 June 2026 and close on Sunday 1 November 2026 or when capacity is reached. Payment is by bank transfer only; credit card payment is not available. When entries reach capacity a waitlist operates. Refunds or transfers incur a $25 admin fee up until 30 September 2026; no refunds are issued from 1 October 2026 onward. In a cancellation for reasons beyond organiser control entry fees would be returned less any costs already incurred.
The event is timed and has a 3 hour 30 minute overall cut off. Walkers may use a slightly shorter course that omits a 3 km loop to meet the time limit and have the same chance at spot and fun prizes. Competitors must be aged over 15 and under 120.
Supporters can travel on the boat for a separate fee. There are water stations at Anakiwa, Mistletoe Bay and the finish. A portion of entry fees supports people living with neuroendocrine cancers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
