Event Overview
The Livestrong at the Y 5K & Half Marathon is a community running event hosted by the YMCA of Metro North and the Torigian Family YMCA in Peabody, Massachusetts. The event takes place at Lt. Ross Memorial Park and focuses on supporting the Livestrong at the Y program, which assists cancer survivors in regaining health and confidence after treatment.
The race offers two primary distances for participants:
- 5K
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
The course is open to both runners and walkers. For safety and logistical reasons, neither strollers nor dogs are permitted on the race courses. Professional chip timing services are provided for all participants to track their performance.
Registration and Facilities
Registration is required in advance, as there is no registration available on the day of the event. Participants who complete their registration by October 31st are guaranteed a race t-shirt. After the race, refreshments are provided to all participants.
Specific awards are granted based on age groups for the 5K race only, with recognition for top finishers. Packet pick-up is available on designated dates prior to the race at the Torigian Family YMCA or on the morning of the event at the park. Funds raised from the event contribute to the YMCA of Metro North Annual Fund, which supports community access to childcare, camps, and health programs.
