Live Wildly Open Water Team Challenge
The Live Wildly Open Water Team Challenge is scheduled for 24 October 2026 at 1501 Guf Way, Saint Pete Beach, FL 33706, US. The event is presented by Live Wildly and is held in celebration of World Swim Day. It supports protection of the Florida Wildlife Corridor, an 18 million acre expanse across Florida.
Event formats and distances include:
- Team Relay: 4 miles total, 1/4-mile loop.
- Solo Challenge: 4 miles solo endurance option.
- Solo Swim What You Can: up to 2 miles.
- Vernaci Challenge: 5k run, two 1/4-mile swims, two 1-mile runs.
Team Relay particulars and rules are defined for teams of 3 to 8 swimmers. Each swimmer completes one loop at a time and must tag the next teammate. No swimmer may swim consecutive loops, and no swimmer may exceed three total loops. Team order is decided by the team.
The Solo Challenge requires exiting the water after each loop and running around shoreline flags before re-entering. The Solo Swim What You Can option limits individual distance to two miles.
