Live Laugh Run memorial event
This memorial fundraiser was established in 2016 to celebrate a life and to raise funds for college scholarships in the namesake's honor. The 2026 theme honors a love of Christmas and the event is held in partnership with Mainely Wishes, a nonprofit that grants meaningful wishes to people in need. Proceeds are split equally with 50% supporting the Rebecca Mason Memorial scholarships and 50% funding wishes for individuals facing medical or other hardships.
The event runs both virtually and in person from October 4 to October 10, 2026. Virtual participants may complete miles anytime and anywhere during the event week and may share pictures and stories on the event Facebook page during that week to be eligible for prize categories. The live component is a 5k run or walk that starts and finishes at Gouin Athletic Complex on Alpine Street in Paris, Maine.
Registration opens August 22. Fees are $25 for adults and $20 for students ages 1 to 18. Registration completed by September 22 includes the 2026 event T-shirt. Local virtual participants may pick up T-shirts around October 4; shipping is available by separate donation with suggested amounts of $5 for a single shirt and $10 for a family to help cover postage.
