Pleasant Mountain Race
The Pleasant Mountain Race is a trail event held at Pleasant Mountain East Lodge, 305 Mountain Road, Bridgton, ME. The event features a 21k course that starts and finishes at the East Lodge and traverses the mountain ridge on technical single track.
The course includes two major climbs: about 1700 feet of ascent in roughly 2 miles up Bald Peak, and about 1900 feet of ascent in roughly 2.5 miles on the Southwest Ridge. After the ridge, runners follow the northern ridge and descend on the technical Sue’s Way trail before returning to Bald Peak and the finish. A course map and elevation profile are provided in the race photos, and a GPX file is available.
There will be one aid station at the Southwest Ridge Trailhead offering sweet and salty snacks, water, and Tailwind. Gear checks occur at bib pickup to ensure participants are prepared. Mandatory items include at least 500 mL of water, at least 400 calories, a windbreaker or rain shell, a space blanket or emergency foil blanket, and a headlamp. Participants are encouraged to carry additional water and warm layers.
Entry fees vary by date. All participants receive a technical shirt (guaranteed if registered by 9/1), a food truck ticket with a gluten free option, and a beer ticket for those 21 and older. Finishers receive a 2026 finisher medal. Proceeds benefit the Loon Echo Land Trust. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
