Pleasant Mountain Race - September 27, 2026
The Pleasant Mountain Race is a 21k trail event held in Bridgton, Maine at the Pleasant Mountain East Lodge (305 Mountain Road). The event is organized by the Loon Echo Race Series and includes post race food, beer from Norway Brewing Company for those 21 and older, and live music.
Participants receive a tech t-shirt (guaranteed for those registered by 9/1), a food truck ticket with a gluten free option, and a beer ticket for those 21 and over. Finishers receive a 2026 Pleasant Mountain Race finisher medal. Entry pricing is tiered: $70 before 5/1/2026, $75 before 9/1/2026, and $80 starting 9/1/2026. Registration closes on September 26, 2026.
The course begins and ends at the East Lodge and follows technical single track and ridge trails. Runners face about 1,700 feet of climbing in 2 miles up Bald Peak, descend via Firewarden’s Trail, move toward the Southwest Ridge Trailhead for another roughly 1,900 feet of gain in 2.5 miles, cross the northern ridge, and descend Sue’s Way before returning to Bald Peak and the road to the finish. A course map and elevation profile are available in the event photos and a GPX file is provided.
There is one aid station at the Southwest Ridge Trailhead offering water, Tailwind, and snacks. Mountain conditions can change rapidly; mandatory gear includes at least 500 mL of water, at least 400 calories, a windbreaker or rain shell, an emergency foil blanket, and a headlamp. Gear will be checked at bib pickup. Proceeds benefit the Loon Echo Land Trust. Sponsors include ReVision Energy, Marathon Sports, Maine Morning Micro Roasters, Canyon Wren Coaching, and Norway Brewing Company. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
