Pleasant Mountain Race
The Pleasant Mountain Race is an annual trail running event held on Southern Maine's tallest mountain. The course utilizes technical single-track trails and takes participants across the mountain's ridge. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Loon Echo Land Trust, a nonprofit organization dedicated to land conservation and trail maintenance in the Lakes Region.
The event features a specific distance:
- Half marathon
The race is held at the Pleasant Mountain East Lodge in Bridgton, Maine. Participants run through conserved lands that feature iconic mountain views and technical terrain. All participants receive a tech t-shirt, provided they register by the specified deadline in early September. The entry fee also includes a meal ticket and a beverage for those of legal age.
Finishers are awarded a specific medal for the current race year. The event also offers incentives for participants who engage with multiple races in the broader trail series, such as discounts on additional registrations or series-specific apparel. Registration for the event is final and non-refundable, and bib transfers are not permitted.
Local volunteers assist with course direction and aid station support to provide hydration and nourishment during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
