Pleasant Mountain Race
The Pleasant Mountain Race is a trail event held in Bridgton, ME on September 27, 2026. The course distance is 21k and the event is organized by the Loon Echo Race Series. Proceeds benefit the Loon Echo Land Trust, a non-profit that conserves land in the Lakes Region.
Entry fees vary by date: $70 before 2026-05-01, $75 before 2026-09-01, and $80 starting 2026-09-01. All participants receive a tech t-shirt (sign up by 2026-09-01 to guarantee a shirt), a food truck ticket with a gluten-free option, and a beer ticket for participants 21 and older. Finishers receive a 2026 Pleasant Mountain Race medal. Registration closes on 2026-09-26 at 11:59 PM ET.
The course starts and finishes at Pleasant Mountain East Lodge and includes technical single-track and ridge running. Climbs include about 1700 feet of gain in 2 miles up Bald Peak and about 1900 feet of gain in 2.5 miles on the Southwest Ridge approach. Trails named in the description include Firewarden’s Trail, the Southwest Ridge Trailhead, the northern ridge, and Sue’s Way. A course map and elevation profile are available in the race photos.
There is one aid station located at the Southwest Ridge Trailhead offering snacks, water, and Tailwind. Mandatory gear requirements include at least 500 mL of water, at least 400 calories, a windbreaker or rain shell, a space blanket or emergency foil blanket, and a headlamp. Additional recommended items include 1 L of water, hat, gloves, and a warm layer. Volunteers are sought to help at course points, start/finish, and the aid station.
