Lincolnway Run
The Lincolnway Run is a community road race held in Wheatland with related events in Calamus during a late August community festival. The event offers multiple distances and a short course for children and uses a route on the historic Lincolnway Highway east of town.
The race starts and finishes at Wheatland Park and follows an out and back course along the old Lincolnway Highway. The course is described as fast and flat. Vehicle parking is available at the city park, the school parking lot, and on surrounding streets.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- Kids 1/4 Mile Fun Run
All proceeds support development of matching funds for a grant to build the Lincolnway Trail, a multi use trail intended to connect the Calamus and Wheatland communities by using a section of the historic Lincoln Highway. The Lincolnway Run serves as the opening event for the Cal Wheat Fun Days weekend, which includes a parade, auto cruise in, children’s activities, food vendors, and other community events in Calamus and Wheatland.
