Lincolnway Run
The Lincolnway Run takes place in Wheatland as part of the 5th Annual Cal-Wheat Fun Days. The event is centered at Wheatland Park and includes a timed 5K and a one mile distance, plus a kids obstacle course. The 5K and one mile share a start and finish at Wheatland Park and follow an out-and-back route to the east of town along the old Lincolnway Highway.
Packet pick-up and race day registration are available on the day of the event. An awards ceremony follows the races. Vehicle parking is provided at the city park, the school parking lot, and on surrounding streets.
Proceeds will be used to develop matching funds for a grant to create the Lincolnway Trail, a planned multi-use trail that will connect Calamus and Wheatland by utilizing a section of the Historic Lincoln Highway. The run serves as the weekend kickoff to a sequence of community events that include a street dance, a parade, an auto cruise-in, kids activities and games, food vendors, a cornhole tournament, live music, and community gatherings in both Wheatland and Calamus.
