About the race
The Frostbite Foot Race 8K takes place on January 16, 2027 at Scott County Park on 270th Street in Eldridge, Iowa. The course is an 8-kilometer route on asphalt with a few rolling hills through a scenic park; the course is cleared of snow. Walkers are welcome.
Registration pricing lists a $25 entry fee before January 15 and a $15 fee for children 12 and under (a $10 discount). Processing and mandatory charges may apply. Race day packet pickup, awards, and post-race gatherings are held at the Whispering Pines Pavilion, a heated pavilion where hot cocoa and cookies will be served.
Event shirts and giveaways are part of the event: a special edition long sleeve t-shirt is reserved for the first 300 pre-registered participants, and participants are advised to arrive early to help ensure the correct shirt size. Awards are presented for male and female overall finishers and for multiple age divisions from 9 & under through 80+. Door prizes will be offered; winners must be present to claim prizes, which include one bicycle.
The event may be canceled because of inclement weather at the request of the Park Board and the Iowa Highway Patrol. In the event of cancellation, funds are acknowledged as donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
