Limestone Rocks! 8-Hour Race
The event offers two time-based race options held on a 1.65 mile loop at Limestone Park. The loop surface is mostly crushed limestone with some asphalt. The course is about half flat and half hilly, featuring one short-but-steep downhill, one short-but-steep uphill, a couple of other small hills, and a maximum elevation change of 50 feet.

Runners complete as many full loops as possible within their selected race time. At the end of each loop participants check in with a scorekeeper. Scoring is based on total completed loops; partial loops do not count. In the event of a tie, the runner who finished their last completed loop earlier is ranked higher. During the final half hour of a race there is an option to switch to a 1/4 mile out-and-back loop, consisting of 1/8 mile each way.
An aid station at the loop start and finish will supply mostly individually wrapped items. Restrooms are available nearby and there is space for runners to set up personal base camps. Participants with specific refreshment needs should plan to bring their own items.
Awards include overall and age group placements determined by participation, and finisher awards are provided to all participants (personalized for pre-registered entrants). Net proceeds support the Kankakee Veterans Assistance Commission and Limestone Park. T-shirts can be ordered for an additional fee through the stated deadline. Fee tiers vary by date.
