Event overview
The Light the Way 5K takes place on Sunday, November 23, 2025 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, at 626 Front Street. The event is held at night and the route is lit by the Natchitoches Christmas lights. Packet pick up is available the Friday before the race at the Natchitoches Boys & Girls Club (400 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive) and on race day at the Riverbank Stage. The deadline to be guaranteed a T-shirt is November 10.

Course, schedule and awards
The course starts in front of the riverbank stage, runs south past Santa Clause Lane, turns west on Amulet, north on 2nd Street, and east on Lafayette to return to the riverbank. The Fun Run covers one lap of this loop; three laps complete the 5K. Race day includes registration and packet pick up, a warm up and welcome, the Fun Run, the 5K, a cool down, and an awards ceremony.
Awards for the 5K include top overall male and female. Age group awards (1st through 3rd) are offered for male and female categories: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. A costume contest will award prizes for displays of Christmas spirit. Organizers note this is a night run and recommend reflective gear or lights for visibility.
