Lichfield 10k and Family Fun Run
The event takes place on 13 September 2026 at Beacon Park in Lichfield and comprises a 10 km race and a family fun run within the park. The organiser provides a race village in Beacon Park with parking and access to nearby cafes and shops.

The 10 km race is a certified, measured course run under UKA rules and uses chip timing with results sent by text after the race. The route begins adjacent to Beacon Park on the Lichfield western bypass road with a wide, flat first kilometre, then follows rural lanes out to Chorley village where runners encounter a series of five hills before a fast downhill return to the finish in Beacon Park. The event uses closed country lanes, an escort car and motorcycles, friendly marshals, pacers at a range of target times, and comprehensive medical cover provided by St John Ambulance. There are cash prizes for the first three men and women and for course records. Water is provided at start, halfway and finish; competitors receive a banana and a wooden medal is included. The event applies several environmental measures, offers T-shirts made from recycled plastic for purchase, and provides free finish and halfway photos to download. Profits support the running club and local charities.
The Fun Run is a well-marshalled 2 km route entirely within Beacon Park with a dedicated start and finish featuring an inflatable arch and timing clock. It awards cash prizes for first male and female, provides water, bananas and sweets, and is open to all ages; children under nine must be accompanied by an entering adult.
